GBR has been represented
in every Olympic Winter Games since biathlon made its debut at Squaw
Valley 1960. The BBU aims to continue this record at Turin 2006 and
hopes that, for the first time, GBR women will attain Olympic
Qualification.
The BBU wishes to appoint
a part-time Coach / Trainer (male or female) for the period May 2004 –
March 2006. The nationality of the Coach is not important, but he /
she must have coached a National World or Continental Cup team
or be a recently retired elite athlete wishing to further their
coaching career.
The Coach will:
Ø
Support summer training
(currently based in Ruhpolding GER) for approximately 50 days each
summer.
Ø
Travel with
the World Cup team for approximately 100 days each winter.
Ø
Work with
British Olympic Association (BOA) Support and Medical Staff in the UK
and at Lofer AUT.
Ø
Work with
BBU Support Staff.
Ø
Hold a
clean driving licence.
Ø
Have
knowledge of IBU rules and procedures, and of the World Cup Circuit.
The Coach should:
Ø
Be able to
converse in English with German as a second language.
Ø
Be resident
in, or based in
Europe.
Ø
Be prepared
to undertake some administrative duties.
Ø
Be prepared
to represent GBR at Team Leader and other Meetings etc if required.
Ø
Be prepared
to attend IBU or other Technical training courses etc
Salary & Conditions:
Ø
The salary
to be paid will depend on the quality and experience of the candidate
and will be in the range of Euro 120.00 – 150.00 per day, for
approximately 150 days per year. It will reflect the nature of any
administrative duties.
Ø
The BBU
will pay all reasonable travel, accommodation and living expenses when
the Coach is at training camps / World Cups.
Ø
The BBU
will not be responsible for any tax, pension, welfare or social
security related payments, or health care costs. However the Coach
will be insured on the BBU “Athletes and Staff Insurance Programme”.
