WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Biathlon
World Championships open in Ruhpolding GER on Thu 01
Mar with the Mixed Relay. The final events (Mass
Starts) are on Sun 11 Mar.
As previously
stated, it is unlikely that we shall be able to
upload results nor from the remaining Youth/ Junior
World Champs races, so please go direct to the
IBU website and either
click on "LIVE" or just the race schedule.
All races will be LIVE
on Eurosport and ZDF / ARD.
Race Programme
The GBR teams are Pete BEYER, Carl GIBSON,
Kevin KANE, Lee-Steve JACKSON, Marcel LAPONDER and
Nerys JONES, Amanda LIGHTFOOT, Fay POTTEN, Adele
WALKER.

YOUTH & JUNIOR WORLDS OPEN
IN KONTIOLAHTI
Great training at the
weekend was not quite repeated at the opening Youth
World Champs 12.5 km Indiv race in Kontiolahti FIN,
today 20 Feb. With nearly 100 starters the standard
was higher than in the Youth Winter Olympics, but
the strong wind and snow for the late starters did
GBR no favours with Calum IRVINE missing 9 and Scott
DIXON 11.
Christian LEWIS and Joel SMITH had
an equally difficult start to their World
Championship careers in the Junior 15 km.

THE WOMEN CAN IT IN
CANMORE!
Good news from Canada is that all 3 women (Nerys JONES,
Amanda LIGHTFOOT and Adele WALKER) have re-qualified for World
Cup Trimester 1 next season! Even better news is
that in the IBU Nations Cup they are in an amazing 9th
place whilst the Men have risen to 14th.

the British Championships. Full instructions,

BBU AGM
The full Minutes of
the 2012 AGM will be published shortly. Two new
Board Members were elected to replace Jeremy HOPWOOD
and Jason SKLENAR who both now live in the USA and
had thus resigned. The Board expressed much
gratitude for their support over many years.
The new members are Brig Neil MARSHALL
(Director for Combined Services) and Lt Col Adrian
THURGOOD (Director Special Projects). LCpl Lee-Steve
JACKSON (2 Yorks) is the new Athletes' Rep. |
