RULE CHANGES - 1 NOVEMBER 2002
(IBU RULES)
1.2 CLASSES OF COMPETITORS
The following classes are authorized for IBU competitions:
1.2.1 Men and Women
Male and female competitors who have completed their 21st year of their life at the cut-off-date 31 December shall be called Men and Women respectively and according to gender shall start only in Men’s and Women’s competitions for the season starting with 1 November of the same year.
1.2.2. Junior Men and Junior Women
Male and female competitors who have completed their 19th year of their life at the cut-off-date by 31 December shall be called Junior Men and Junior Women respectively and according to gender shall start only in Junior Men’s and Junior Women’s competitions for the season starting with 1 November of the same year. Separate competitions shall be organized for them. However, they shall be permitted to participate in Men’s and Women’s competitions according to gender.
1.2.3. Youth Men and Youth Women
Competitors who have not yet reached Junior Men’s or Junior Women’s age as defined above are Youth Men or Youth Women respectively and separate competitions shall be organized for them. However, Youth Men are permitted to take part in Men’s and Junior Men’s competitions and Youth Women are permitted to take part in Women’s and Junior Women’s competitions.

For the season 2002/03 age classes will be formed as follows:
Men and Women: year of birth 1981 and older
Junior Men and Junior Women: year of birth 1982 and 1983
Youth Men and Youth Women: year of birth 1984 and younger
