British National and Army Championships – Ruhpolding, GER

Last week saw some fantastic racing at the British National and Army Biathlon Championships in Ruhpolding, Germany which culminated on Thursday 8th of February with the Patrol Race.  1 Regt RLC took victory, beating the Royal Navy team with the AAC Ladies winning in the Ladies patrol race.

In the BBU events, the overall British Champion in the men’s event was Ben Wooley and in the Women’s events was Shawna Pendry.  Despite racing in the youth category Shawna, from Font-Romeau in the Pyrenees, beat all her female rivals, in a phenomenal display of skill – she is certainly one to watch in the future.  Special mention should also go to Jacques Jeffries from Les Gets Ski Club who won the Men’s Junior competition.  We are grateful to both biathletes for making the long trip from France.

Overall it was a great event, and thanks from the BBU go, as ever, to the Army for running it.  Follow the link below for full results.
