The summer is over, the nights are closing in and the training is done. Now its time for action. The 2019-20 Biathlon season is on and it starts on 28th November in Sjusjoen, Norway at IBU Cup 1.
Throughout the summer the GB Squad has been training in Ruhpolding, under the watchful eye of Ilario Maddalin the GB Head Coach. More recently they have moved to the winter wilds of Idrefjall in Sweden where they have had an early chance to get on snow and finalise their preparation for the upcoming winter races.
We have a great team who out competing this season: Amanda Lightfoot returns after a year out and will start racing again on the IBU Cup. Adam Peacock, Adam Williams and Vinny Fountain are all hoping to capitalise on a summer of training and carry on the where they left off last season on the IBU Cup. The season starts on 28th November with IBU Cup 1 in Sjusjoen, before moving to IBU Cup 2 in Ridnaun, Italy and IBU Cup 3 in Obertilliach, Austria.
On the IBU Junior Cup we have Shawna Pendry, Beinn Hrsfall and Titus Clark. Their season starts with the IBU training camp in Poklujka, Slovenia followed by the IBU Junior Cup there and then moves on to the IBU Junior Cup 2 in Martell, Italy.
None of this happens without a lot of help and support and the Teams will be supported by Ilario Maddalin, Mattia Quinz, Ian Pendry and Scott Dixon. Huge thanks to them for the support and help that they give the teams, without which this would not be possible.
